MISSION

Providing Healthcare to the underserved. Shalom Health Ministry recognizes that good health improves qualilty of life. Knowing that access to good healthcare leads to lower healthcare costs, stronger families, and healthier employees and communities, we are committed to:

• Providing accessible primary healthcare to the medically underserved in Houston and surrounding areas
   
• Enlisting highly skilled, caring and committed professionals, as well as congregational and community volunteers
   
• Endeavoring to work in partnership with other organizations to maximize resouces 
   
• Creating an environment that affairs and enriches the lives of the staff, volunteers, and the people we serve
   
• Funding the ministry through collective resources, i.e. churches, charitable foundations, and other likeminded organizations and individuals
   
• Mentoring and encouraging other communities by being a resource

• Those without the standard forms of assistance, i.e. Gold, or Tan card, VA benefits, Medicare, Medicaid, or health insurance 
   
• Those in a waiting period (up to 90 days) for eligibility of the above mentioned programs
   
• Those working at minimal wage jobs without health insurance -- the working poor
   
• Those who are financially indigent living 200% below the federal poverty level without healthcare assistance
